While the government gave the "go ahead" for churches to reopen at 30% of capacity or less, they have also placed stringent restrictions on entry, exit direction of movement, provision of protective equipment, sanitizing supplies and procedures, recording contact information and such that will take considerable planning and preparation. Also, a poll of many members of our congregation revealed a reluctance to open too quickly. (The congregation is mostly senior citizens) Additionally, the East Central Ontario Regional Council advised member congregations it strongly recommended we maintain the status quo until Labour Day weekend. This we did, not opening until September 20th, and even then we held worship outdoors. Member congregations also had to prepare, submit and get approval of their re-opening plan prior to doing so.

Not only were we required to submit and get approved a plan for worship services, we had to prepare and submit a plan for other activities; for group functions, weddings, funerals and other gatherings. Certain activities are completely "off the table", i.e. our community dinners, receptions and so on.

The plans for re-opening that were submitted and approved are listed below. They must be followed if we are to be allowed to continue to operate, and may be changed as new or differing directives are issued by health authorities.

During this time of uncertainty We hope everyone continues safe practices of hand washing, distancing and refraining from touching your face in public.
