In October, just before Thanksgiving 2020, we decided to try a novel experiment. We knew we wanted to support the StoreHouse Foodbank in Wellington, but thought it would be nice to give community members beyond our congregation an opportunity to participate. |

With this in mind we parked a member’s enclosed trailer in our church parking lot with a sign on it inviting one and all to contribute. It was there for eight full days (Sunday to Sunday) and delivered to the Foodbank on the Wednesday following. We, and they, were thrilled with the contents. Articles were placed just inside the door, but kept getting pushed further and further in to make room for more until the entire floor was covered! |

The folk at Storehouse Foodbank were thrilled when we pulled in and especially so that the contents of the trailer had been "in isolation" for more than 48 hours so they did not have to go through the process of sanitizing everything before adding it to their stock. |

The Reverend Susan FlemingIt is with profound sorrow we announce that our beloved minister, the Rev. Sue Fleming, passed away during the night of December 20-21, 2018.
Despite the shock and sorrow, we proceeded with our Advent IV and Christmas Eve services as planned, as I'm sure Sue would have wanted. Subsequent services will also continue as scheduled as we have the resources in hand to continue on.
We pray that God's boundless love and grace brings us together as we process this huge loss and adjust to the difficult road ahead. We have all the faith in the world that our church family will pull together to comfort Sue's family and one another and continue to be a witness in our community. Reverend Sue commenced serving the Pastoral Charge 01 September 2013 |
In December 2018, as a result of the efforts of Janet B and Nancy C, a 3/4 life size manger scene was erected on the front lawn of the church. It was joyfully received by the entire community, and as a long term member of the congregation said with a grin; "I've never seen anything like it here, in all my years!"

Joan Rollins was recognized for her long term service at a special joint service in the Carrying Place sanctuary. All conspired to keep it a surprise for her, but she knew something was afoot when many members of her family showed up for the service as well as former ministers to the Pastoral Charge, Rev. Dale Estey and Rev. Dr. Bill Smith. All was revealed when Rev. Bill was asked to step forward and address those assembled, and he presented Joan with a plaque and a certificate recognizing her ministry.
Following the service, we assembled in the church hall for (what else!) a sumptuous pot luck lunch.

With an event that harkened back to days when the group was larger, on Saturday, February 1st the girls in the Youth Group hosted a Spaghetti Dinner in support of The Storehouse Food Bank. Assisted by a few adults, the girls aged 11 to 13 raised a grand total of $387.00 in cash donations, plus several bags of food. A nominal admission of $2.00 plus a donation to the food bank got you a hearty meal of pasta with rich meat sauce, garlic bread, beverage and desert. Attendance was modest due to nasty weather, but Bob and Linda Downey from The Storehouse were thrilled with the proceeds.
This is only the latest in a series of activities in which the girls have participated raising funds for good causes. They have raised money to purchase mosquito nets for Africa (Spread the Net), Covenant House in Toronto, and Canadian Tire's Jumpstart Program; all initiatives aimed at helping young people at risk or in need.
In the past they have also made donations to (among others) the SPCA shelters in Prince Edward County and Belleville.

Our youth ran a table in the bazaar which was held concurrent with the parade. They raised funds to buy mosquito nets to prevent malaria. They sold candy "kabobs", cookies, and raffled off a gingerbread house they constructed. Even Reverend Sue bought a ticket! |
